After starting my wedding planning blog, in which i mentioned the workouts i am doing to get in shape, i decided to side note a blog specifically for My Wedding Workouts.
I've always been a pretty healthy person my entire life.. I never ate garbage food when i was a kid. In fact, while my little brother ate bowls and bowls of sugar packed cereals at night, i would sit down to the boob tube with a head of lettuce.
In my teens i started dabbling in work out videos and when i hit 16 i joined my first gym. So for the last 19 years or so I've been in and out of gyms/work-out routines etc. I always ate pretty good, my high metabolism and my working out always gave me a ferocious appetite though that salads sometimes wouldn't cut. So subs and burgers, bloomin' onions, milkshakes etc. consumed at least some of my diet during the week.
After i got engaged in March, and returned from vacation, i stopped working out and kept eating the same because that's what my mind and tummy craved (thankfully i gave up the bloomin' onion for lent and i haven't been back since). Well that did it.. My muscle turned to flab, the belly got bigger and i now have a wrinkly butt and rear thighs and quads..
Enter disgust and embarrassment.
A friend of mine let me borrow P90X since he wasn't using it at the time. I couldn't get through any workouts (talk about out of shape!) at all.
Enter frustration and desperation.
One night, while my Fiance' was at work, i fell asleep on the couch and woke up to Tony Horton's 10-minute Trainer workout infomercial. My interest was definitely peaked, but i was afraid to spend that kind of coin on yet ANOTHER work out video.
Weeks went by and every single weekend he worked i found myself in the same situation. SO one Sunday morning i just called and ordered it! Why the heck not right?
I had the videos for almost a month before i opened them up to try them out. I read the material, watched more infomercials, and decided to give it a try one night after work. I didn't get to the 2nd workout. i only made it 10 minutes! Ideally they want you to do 3-10 minute workouts which they have scheduled for you. Yeah OK! YOU do it! lol.
Enter disappointment and pain.
The next 3 nights i TRIED to do 2 but i could only get through 1 workout. Then i went on vacation with Brad and some of his cousins and i decided that when i got back i would kick it into high gear, and so far i have.
The workout also comes with a website you can track your progress and workouts on, (which reminds me, i have to add tonight's workouts still).
Once i can get to the 3-a-day and maintain for a few weeks, I'm going to try the P90X again. Even if i just do it once a week to build myself up whilst doing the 10 minute trainer workouts on the other days I'll be happy.
I want to look better than i did when he met me 3 years ago (i looked damn good too lol) on my wedding day. I'll keep you updated on the workouts too, for all of you brides out there that don't have much time to devote to working out at the gym this a superb alternative to help you get into shape.
Here is my workout plan of attack:
10-Minute Trainer
Company Personal Trainer 1 to 2 days a week (depending on availability)
Wii-games, fit etc. on the rest days or when i am feeling lazy
Walking
Yoga
Graduate to P90X
