To Workout/ or Not to Workout?

Ironically inspired by THIS article by Tony Horton this morning.

Tuesday (Day 30 of my workout series) i contemplated what type of workout i was going to do for Day 31. I decided to do Yoga, only because i wanted to give my muscles a break from the previous 2 days.

Last night, after dinner was finished, dishes done, and errands run i still had a lot of energy left and felt that would not have done my Yoga routine any good as i would have had a hard time focusing on my moves. I am aware that this should be a time to seize the moment and work on it anyway, but who am i kidding, i was not going to be able to do it this day, but not for lack of motivation.

I opted for 3 -10 minute trainer workouts instead. I've only been able to accomplish all 3 one time before, but i was determined especially after reading a lot of Tony Horton's blog posts yesterday. Bottom line is i did it, i pushed myself as far as my body would allow. I felt a great sense of accomplishment when i was complete, and it immediately brought me to think about past conversations i have had over and over with myself, my friends, and my Fiance'.

"Whenever you want to blow off a workout, or you are 'unmotivated' just do it anyway".

9 times out of 10 that will be the workout that eclipses all past workouts, as mine did last night. You will have a feeling of accomplishment and not guilt for not working out. Your mind will be free, your body will be one step closer to fit, and the less likely you will be to fall into a slump of being unmotivated, which we all know is damn hard to break out of.

So when your mind and body tell you, "I'll do it tomorrow", just do it today anyway. Procrastinators get nowhere in life but left behind.
