Believe it or not, the body is designed to expend as little energy as possible, hence why eating crazy amounts of calories and living a sedentary lifestyle are the crux of our obesity problem.
This can be avoided by increasing the caloric expenditure of your workout session(s), which will allow the body to continue to burn more calories after exercise than before exercise was initiated. Increasing intensity and splitting training sessions into multiple sessions will allow for optimal post exercise burn.
When the goal is body fat reduction, the key is to focus on burning calories, NOT burning fat. It is also important to understand that one must expend more calories than consumed to lower body fat.
