Day 131

Trainer Mike Day!!
No other workouts. I was thinking of doing some Turbo Jam Cardio Party, but it was a commute day and I hit WAY too much traffic. Throws off my whole night when that happens.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned to Mike that I was having problems doing some of the routines on the One on One with Tony Horton, and some on ChaLean Extreme as well. Those exercises entail jumping from the hips into the air and meeting your knees with your hands. I can NOT do this at all. I can do one leg at a time, but that is it.

Mike told me that I have weak hip flexor muscles. hmmm.. OK! so we worked on some exercises for those that day, and again today. What he also mentioned is that he's noticed through the years, since the fitness industry started turning away from actual sit-ups because of the lower back strain, that the complaints about  the hip flexor muscles being weak started growing in number.

It's amazing that I feel this too. Since working out with the Beachbody workouts I feel stronger in almost all of my major muscle groups, though the area where the hip flexor muscles are located feels very... ummmm empty, for lack of a better word. This isn't because the workouts aren't doing their job, in fact they are! It's just I can't get my legs up! lol I have to work on those muscles separately if I'm going to be able to do ALL portions of these routines completely.
